About Puja
Kāḷāṣṭamī is revered as the most powerful tithi for the worship of Lord Bhairava, the Kṣetrapālaka and guardian of dharma. Observed on the Ashtami tithi of Krishna Paksha, this sacred day is especially potent for destruction of fear, removal of deep karmic afflictions, protection from unseen forces, and restoration of inner strength and discipline.
On 9th February 2026, Bhairava Ārādhanā and Homam is performed at Tripurathakam, an ancient and spiritually charged kṣetra traditionally associated with intense sādhana and Śaiva worship. Performing Bhairava upāsanā at such a sacred location on Kāḷāṣṭamī greatly amplifies the protective and transformative power of the ritual.
The puja begins with proper saṅkalpa, followed by Bhairava Ārādhanā, wherein Lord Bhairava is invoked with prescribed mantras, upacāras, and offerings as per śāstric tradition. This is followed by Bhairava Homam, where the same potent mantras are offered into the consecrated fire, allowing Agni to carry the devotee’s prayers directly to the fierce yet compassionate form of the Lord.
Through the homam, Bhairava’s ugra śakti is invoked to destroy fear, cut through negative influences, neutralize enemy forces, and protect the devotee from visible and invisible obstacles. The ritual concludes with śānti mantras, sealing the saṅkalpa and establishing a powerful spiritual shield around the devotee.
The scriptures glorify the worship of Bhairava, declaring:
“भैरवः सर्वरक्षार्थं सर्वदुःखविनाशनः”
—
“Lord Bhairava protects all beings and destroys all forms of suffering.”
Our learned team of Pandits at VedaVidhi will perform this sacred Bhairava Sādhanā and Homam with strict adherence to authentic Vedic and Śaiva traditions, maintaining mantra-śuddhi, ritual purity, and śāstric discipline, seeking Lord Bhairava’s blessings for protection, fearlessness, justice, inner strength, and spiritual stability in the lives of devotees.
