About Puja
Śrī Pañcamī is a highly auspicious tithi dedicated to the worship of Goddess Lakṣmī, the presiding deity of wealth, fortune, nourishment, and auspiciousness. On this sacred day, Lakṣmī Ārādhana and 108 Kamala Puṣpa Hōmam will be performed to invoke the compassionate grace of Goddess Lakshmi, seeking lasting prosperity, removal of financial obstacles, and harmony in household life.
This powerful ritual is especially prescribed for those experiencing instability in income, blocked growth despite effort, recurring financial stress, or lack of peace in material life. Worship of Lakṣmī with kamala (lotus) flowers, Her most beloved offering, on Śrī Pañcamī is said to swiftly attract auspiciousness and abundance.
Ritual Sequence and Spiritual Significance:
The puja begins with Sankalpam, taken in the devotee’s name and gotra, praying for financial stability, growth in livelihood, freedom from poverty-related karmas, and sustained prosperity. This is followed by Lakṣmī Ārādhana, performed with devotion through mantra, archana, and offerings to please the Goddess of fortune.
This is followed by the sacred 108 Kamala Puṣpa Hōmam, where lotus flowers are offered into the consecrated fire while chanting powerful Lakṣmī mantras. Each āhuti invokes abundance, purity, and divine grace through Agni, aligning the devotee’s efforts with dharmic wealth and well-being.
The scriptures glorify Lakṣmī as the source of all auspiciousness:
“श्रीरदेवीर्भव लक्ष्मीः”
— “O Goddess Lakṣmī, You are the embodiment of divine prosperity and fortune.”
